THE QUEST FOR TRUTH For those students seeking a profes- sional career, the college preparatory course is offered in its scientific and academic phases. 'I'he scientific phase presupposes a liking for mathematics and science, whereas the academic phase probes into the mys- teries of the foreign tongue. Pl-XRLEZ-VOUS FRAN- CAIS? Miss Margaret Mul- doon asks. Certain basic subjects are required for admission to college. This course provides an extensive training program in these par- ticular subjects. Research and experimenta- tion are a part of this curriculum which includes studies in science, higher mathe- matics, and develops versatility in linguistics. MRS. WEAVER discusses family relations with Betty Raughley, Foster Webster, Natalie Spector, and Oscar Key.

KEYS TO SUCC Chester High maintains a fine commer- cial department. Extensive training is avail- able in four specific divisions: secretarial selling, accounting, and general commercial. Elementary training begins in the sopho- more year and follows the same pattern for the four branches. Specialized study in the respective divisions begins in the junior year, and all commercial students are scheduled for the fields of their choice. 1 ESS The distributive education course is offered in the senior year. Students who choose this course remain in school through- out the morning, their afternoons are spent in local business houses. Assistance is rendered to graduating commercial students by the Placement Bureau, which aids students in securing positions with prominent local industries and firms. ASPIRING TYPISTS study correct techniques in the hope of obtaining top posi- tions. SENIOR STUDENTS acquire valuable experience operat- ing the school switchboard, Chester High is one of the few schools in this area that provides this opportunity.
