'lf M6mOflES when we started our high school car eer, there were forty eight of us, with Mr Pruit as our adviser Many of our boys participated in football Janice Gleason and Sue Jones were selected as cheerleaders Janice was also a member of the Football Queen s Court Jean Whitney, Sherry Beck, and Marilyn Brown received the honor of cheering for the Reserve basketball team In the spring, Carman Atkinson, James Depue, and Shir ley Pruit were selected to compete the scholarship team Janice and Mari lyn were elected to serve in the May Queen s court At the end of the year, we travelled to Mac O Chee Castle and Ohio Caverns for our class trip The sophomore year found our number much smaller Marilyn and Janice made the Varsity cheering squad, with Sue Jean, Sherry, and Anne making up the Re serves Th1s proved to be a great year 1n sports as the football team won the championship, as did the basketball team with the first trip to the district as tournament cha pions The Reserves, com ney also Dick Lewis captained the boys On the eighteenth of March, we presented 2 one act plays Bobby Sox, a d HCam pus Brides H nCampus Bridesnwas selected to enter the county contest and received a rating of excellent Anne and Janice were selected to attend the May Queen Do you remember those exciting baseball games that we got to play in the dis trict and the nice trophy we won for win- ning the consolation place Probably the wildest dream came true when those goofy Juniors told us if we wanted to do the serving at their Prom, we had to don sarongs and short pants Well, we did think they were kidding,but we guess you know we wore th anyway It got a bit drafty at times, but it was fun anyway We shouldn't forget to tell ou also that Anne was selected as FFA Queen and Chapter Sweetheart for the year what a night she had for her coronation" everyone got snowbound There were thirty three members in the Junior class Anne Sherry, and Sylvia were elected cheerleaders Anne was elected Football Queen and Phyllis was her junior attendant Dick Lewis was named as captain of the Varsity bas ketball team, and we got to the finals for the second successive year Do,you remember that first tournament that was a score was about 2 O quarter We won that My but it was cold during the champion ship game fwhich we lost 32 30 in an o vertimej because there was no heat in the coliseum Judy Mosher helped to cheer Gerald and the Reserves to victory for the second year as champlons so we came home with one trophy At the ann ual Commercial contest Shirley and Jean made it l 2 in the shorthand contest and Sue and Anne got lst and 3rd in the typ 1ng test We presented our class play Sweetheart of U Baka P during t e last week in May Remember what fun we had before the Prom maklng all of those snow flakes and we were surely glad of in the and the of he 27 l7 crazy game stall game at the end one though because the night was so warm May 5 was a grand night for Marilyn as she reigned as May Queen Phyllis and Anne attended her as Junior representatives Remember how 'Rovern tried to steal the show by passing outn at the Queen s feet but the procession continued W vis1ted Put 1n Bay for our class trip, and did we ever have fun with our squirt guns Sue Jones received the honor of attending Buckeye Girls' State at Cap Twenty nine sen1ors are now in 307 Bob and Paul who were football captains really gave Queen Sherry a Jolt during the crown1ng, because she even lost her crown Jan1ce again was selected as her attendant Mar1lyn Sue, Anne, and Sherry were elected to cheer the boys on to victory, while Jean yelled for their backers As of now, Dick, Paul, Roger, Whitey, Joe, Gerald, Big will, and Bob have finished their basketball careers, Continued on page 19 ll Q . 0 , .
