He placed 5th in the mile and 2nd in the 2-mile at state. He also an- chored the school record 2-mile relay. Below: High jump was a strong event as Dan had a best of 6', Brad S'll , Mike 5 10 , and Scot 5'6 . Dan and Brad qualified for the state meet. At the State Meet, Dan placed 2nd in the high hurdles, and Brad placed 4th in the long jump. SENIOR LEADERSHIP: RonGaspar, Stan Fods, Dave Fedeler, Don Muth, Dan Holbeck, and Mike Baartman. Not Pictured is Doug Olson. David Riedel improved in shot and had a school record best of 46,9 and he qualified for the state meet. The Flyer boys took 1st in quad and tri meets at Chester, 2nd Howard Inv. , 1st Dells Inv., 1st Madison Inv., 1st Chester Inv. , 2nd Centerville Inv., and 1st Region V B . They placed 7th in the State. Chester placed 3rd in the Regional and sent four boys to the state meet as a team. Kevin Fods, Terry Coomes and Don Muth were among the top 20 in the region. They qualified the team, which included Tony Schmidt, for the state meet. Don placed 16th, Kevin-58th, Terry-69th and Tony-82nd.
