Track Season!!! Kalvin Olson and Mike Baart- man-A nagging muscle pull prevented Kalvin from having a good season. Mike was a solid relay and high jump performer. Front Row: Coach DeBoer, Paul Gaspar, Todd Augustad, Randy Shaver, Dean Hass, Dean Larson, Terry Coomes, Coach Schaefer. Back Row: Jim Baumberger, Kevin Fods, Brad Uthe, Scot Uthe, Marty Hefner, John Bond. Mark Acheson's highlights included Conference and Region championships in the discus throw-consis- tently high placer all season. School record holder with a throw of 148'. State qualifier. Don Muth led the way in distances- was region champ in mile and two-mile with 4:46.0 and 10:37. Don was our distance runner in the State Meet. Orrin Myers was a solid point producer in the sprints. His best times were 10.3 and 23.5. Orrin was the Conference champ in the 100. Going through a workout under the direction of Coaches Schaefer and DeBoer. Stan Fods had a good year in the shot put. 27

Ron Jones and Dan Holbeck-Ron had bests of 15.9 and a school record 21.1 -conf. champ in high hurdles. Dan had high hurdles time of 15.8 and 5'9M in high jump. Both Seniors Provided Leadership for an excellent track qualified for the State Meet, season. Mike DeBulten- Mike's Special- ties were the long jump and triple jump -he qualified for the state in both. Had School record best of 20' 10 in long jump. David R iedel- David made good progress in the shot as he placed 2nd in the Conference and Region. David also qual ified for State. 26
