Although Eidolon, as any other high school yearbook of high caliber, is geared toward the graduating class and its memories of the High School Experience seventy-five percent of the student body consists of underclassmen, the backbone of the school structure. In strict accordance with Darwin, these hearty whelps enter East bewildered, with crumpled map in hand and perplexing schedules in mind. The year passes slowly, each day exposing the infinite facets of Cougar County. Then, the lazy summer arrives, and it's time to say good bye to the friends, teachers, foreign tongues, and hectic days for a two month reprieve. Fall arrives, and the ritual begins once again, but things have changed. The Freshman eyes have sobered and matured, and the generation of Soph- omores. that intermediate breed so necessary to the continuance of school life, evolves. Later, the childish whims and teenage novelty give way for the driving, college-seeking Junior class, the last stage before entering the realm of Seniorship, when each member can glance back with awe and amusement at his underclass life long passed.
