Mitsi, Fritsi, and Agnes - a wacky tap dancing group from USO Radar senses the arrival of helicopters rapper John and Ugly John announce Hawkeye and Duke at the camp party From the Director Various improvements had a great deal to do with my selection of M A S H. Very often our Fall Production will only cast fifteen to twenty students. This year, however, M A $ H casts over forty. Flaving forty students, many of whom are new to the theatre department, is very excit- ing. Everyone on the cast and crew will have a chance to work on and see equipment that many professional theatres use. There is however, one other significant reason for doing M A $ H — that is the type of comedy it offers to us. A play like M A S H touches us all; it’s universal despite the Korean War setting. Ev- ery character in this play is special — unique in his own way. We can all relate to one or more of these people. On top of that, the play blends dra- matic. tense moments with comedy. This combi- nation is the key to the play’s success as well as that of the T.V. series (which stays high in the ratings and is in its tenth year. The cast. crew, and staff of this show have worked so hard and so well together that my sincere thanks don’t seem enough. I've enjoyed this experience and I hope you have, too. THOMAS R. WEAVER
