f l: Time is the hour of power football practice, cheer- leader and band practice. Crashing helmets, missing goals, forgetting the cheer, being out of step won- dering if it's worth all the pain and disappointment. After a period of serious thought, you decide it is. Patience, time, skill, strength, ability must all be combined into one joint effort, whether it be an indi- vidual or a team activity. Much time and practice must be expended to bring the body to it's highest and best performing level. lt is hard to explain the mental attitude which permits an athlete to continue to per- form even when his muscles ache and he thinks he can not go on. This determina- tion to succeed is instilled in our athletes through compe- tition. .15
