KI 4' Four years and many rugged finals ago slxty sur anmous to please freshmen entered the battered halls of dear old Chelsea High We were all a b1t learv because of the evxl intentxons of the Sophomores as to our lmtiatlon Luckxly we all surv1ved, and afterward we elected our class officers Thls year the boys seemed to have the rulmg hand as our offxcers were Pres1dent, Robert Vogel, V1ce President, James Clark Secretary, Robert Robbms, and Treasurer, Louxs Dreyer Our Student Councll representatlves were Merilyn Johnson and Ronn1e Eder We were fortunate in havmg Mr Cameron as our class advlsor In the sprmg we gave the trad1t1onal Freshman Sophomore Ret1u'n Party With a few drops and some addltions, we continued on our way to graduauon We all mourned the loss of the pr1v11age of initlatlon, but were somewhat compensated by the Freshman Inmauon Party We overcame the ruling power of the boys by electing Merllyn Johnson, Pres1dent, Shlrley LeVan, Vice President, Dan Maroney, Secretary, and Roslyn Ruels, Treasurer Our Student Coun cil representatives for th1s year were Pat Murphy and Lou1s Dreyer Mr Alpervxtz was our advisor After much delxberation and several votes we fmally selected our class rmgs wluch we hoped to get mn the fall We ended the year w1th the happy thought that we were now Jun1ors Our Junxor year began wlth an enrollment of slxty one members We elected, as our offxcers Louis Dreyer, President, Ronnie Eder, V1ce Presldent, Roslyn Ruele, Secretary, and Dorothy Howard Treasurer These newly elected offlcers met w1th the adv1sors, Mxss Schell and Mrs Martin and appointed the varlous commltties for the year We chose Robert Toney and Marlene Schneider as our representatives in the Student Council After much ant1c1pat1on we recexved our class rings, and despite our former 1ndec1s1on, everyone seemed to be well sausfled W1th an eye towards money making, we sponsored a ple social and a Chrxstmas Dance One of the blg events of our Juruor year was our play, Murder In Rehearsal ' g1ven on March 18 The other was the Jumor Senior reception Our theme for the prom was the Forty N1ners Our fourth and final year started off w1th the election of our offlcers We chose Merxlyn Treasurer Mr Chandler and Mxss DeRose were our very capable advlsors Om' Student C0l1IlC11 representatlves were Ralph Guenther and Marlene Schnexder Corky Dreyer was Presldent of the Student Councll Our f1rst great enterprlse was our magazme sale, wluch turned out to be qulte a success, and for whlch we recelved a plaque Our other money making projects for the year lncluded our Sen1or Stand the sellmg of Booster Plates and the Senior play, The Inner Wllly , whxch was presented December 13 The Senxors were in charge of the Infantxle Paralysis Dr1ve, wh1ch went over the top Towards,the end of our year we ordered our caps and gowns and our commencement annommcements We flmshed the year with a three day crulse to Mackmac Island F1nally on June 6 the greatest mght of our h1gh sc ool career, we received our diplomas Nb Slgned + Nan cy Sara Witnessed, ' Vlrgmla Q sf n K, 7 Icgmdy ? rw 'r fgg ix gi? f , if X !
