Officers of the Senior Class are Don Russell, President, Dan East, Vice-President, Betty Barnes, Secretary, Jane Dickert, Treasurer. 7ke CLASS lfiflll After two years of prospecting, the 49'ers struck it rich when they became Seniors. The first year was spent in learning their way around the school and deciding where and in whom to place their stakes. The next year, having obtained a certain amount of confidence, the Seniors-to-be took charge of various activities. The Junior play, Spring Green, the Junior party, the Junior-Senior Prom were each planned and carried out very successfully. Gladly and willirgly they accepted the responsibilities that belong to the leaders of the school. into very capable hands were placed the Student Council, the Dynamo, the Maroon and White, the book- store, and ROTC. For true Christmas ioy the 49'ers entertained themselves as well as their orphan guests with a chapel program, decorated tree, and gifts. April fooling was still going on April 7, when the Seniors, alias many shapes and forms, really let their hair down. Then appeared sights and creatures that have never been seen before. That Senior Day was really something. The beautiful scene at May Day calmed them down some, however. On Class day, realizing that they were coming nearer and nearer to their last vein of high school fun, they even calmed down some more. And on Commencement night, they were as good as gold. The real gold, however, was the diploma given to each successful prospector - symboliz- ing the knowledge, understanding, and friendships acquired during the three years. Page I8
