The Annual Staff would like to take this opportunity in recognizing one of our finest. Mrs. Joyce Adams has been at Chattahoochee High School for 5 years. In those 5 years, she has taught her students well. Not only does Mrs. Adams teach typing and shorthand in her classes, but she also teaches her students, by example, good taste, good man- ners, and good behavior. Mrs. Adams teaches not only during the day at C. H. S., but also has a night class in Adult Education which she instructs. Mrs. Adams also has been the sponsor of our Chattahoochee High School Annual Staff for two years. This is another duty that entails a great deal of extra time and work on her part. There are many different types of teachers: the poor teacher who does nothing, the average teacher who does little more, the good teacher who does what is required, and the finest teacher who never stops doing. The annual staff sincerely believes Mrs. Joyce Adams is one of Chattahoochee High School’s finest teachers. We would like to take this opportunity to salute her. holding hands with the world. two-toned shoes. enjoying simple pleasures. sometimes beyond emotion. catching that girl or boy you want. 7 SENIOR CLASS Margie Herring Judy Duncan Rosemary Cowcn Steve Williams Amy Hill Debbie Richardson Carol Funderburk Sondra Dawkins VICE PRESIDENT. . . I remember the rain falling. Rain, rain, falling down. Please, rain. Let me drown. 1 remember smiling at the sunset. 1 remember failing my mid-term health test. I remember spying through the kaleidoscope. Now 1 lay me down to sleep; my bag of jelly- beans at my feet. If I die before I wake, I leave them to my cousin Blake. I remember swinging a cat around by the tail. I remember looking at “before” and “after” pictures of girls in magazines and invariably deciding that the “before” pictures looked better. Ha! Ha! She’s funny! Calls me honey... Wants my money. I remember trying to convince my parents that I still believed in Santa Claus so I would receive a stocking when I was thirteen. I remember the bus screeching to a halt and the blood flowing freely. Fire! Fire! False alarm! I fall onto my boyfriend’s arm. I remember feeding the squirrels in the park. I remember the ambulances screaming louder than I. 1 say hi! You say ’bye! Hello! Hello! Goodbye! Hello! 1 remember crying when my cat was killed. I remember laughing when I saw an old lady slip on the ice. I remember sucking my thumb because I thought that I would get beautiful hands if 1 did so. Jacky, Jacky, I’ve been thinkin’ What in the world have you been drinkin’? I remember crying when President Kennedy was assassinated. I remember discovering there are no stars. I remember stealing a box of chocolates and getting caught. To do it or not to do it - - That is the question. 1 remember wondering how it was possible for Jesus to sweat blood. 1 remember the neon lights flashing eerily. I remember giving up my subway seat to a Negro lady that didn’t have a nose. If the train goes off the track Do you want your money back? I remember idolizing the Beatles. I remember skipping classes so I wouldn’t have to see phony girls winking at phony boys. 1 remember lining the inside of my dog’s house with my best friend’s pictures. I remember looking at false eyelashes and wondering what had become of the people that had donated them. You’re darn tootin’ I’d like a fig Newton! I remember winning a record from a radio station. I remember squeezing your hand so tightly that I knew it was possible for Jesus to sweat blood. I remember wanting to curl up and die. And the silence of a great love. And the silence of a deep peace of mind, And the silence of an embittered friendship. There is the silence of a spiritual crisis, Through which your soul, exquisitely tortured, Comes with visions not to be uttered Into a realm of higher life, And the silence of the gods who understand each other without speech. There is the silence of defeat. There is the silence of those unjustly punished; And the silence of the dying whose hand Suddenly grips yours. There is the silence between father and son, When the father cannot explain his life, Even though he be misunderstood for it. 50 FRESHMAN CLASS OFFICERS Looking Up In Life PRESIDENT....................
