E O X F E F C I U C T E I R V E LIEUTENANT COMMANDER ERIC C. BAAR, USN Lieutenant Commander Baar was horn in Albany, NY on 5 October, 1953. After graduating from the Citadel, he was commissioned Ensign in May of 19 5. His dutv stations include Coastal River Squadron TWO. USS GUAM (LPH-9). USS ARTHUR U . RADFORD (DD-968), USS BARSTABLE COUNTS ' (LST-1197). and USS SAIPAN (LHS-2). He is a graduate of Surface Warfare Officer School (Department Head Prospective Executive Officer Course) and the Armed Forces Staff College. He reported aboard USS CHARLESTON (LKA-113) as Executive Officer in January, 1988. Lieutenant Commander Baar ' s military decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal and Navy Achievement Medal, as well as numerous unit awards. Lieutenant Commander Baar is married to the former Lynne Harrington, of Tampa, Florida. They have two children, Alan and Jennifer.

c O o F M F M I A C N E D R I N G CAPTAIN NICHOLAS V. MCKENNA, USNR I Captain McKenna was born and raised in the Philadelphia area, and enlisted in the United States Navy in the summer of I960. After completing Radarman ' A ' School, he was selected for the Naval Reserve Officer Training Cadet program. Upon graduation from Villanova University in 1965, Captain McKenna was commissioned as Ensign, United States Navy. He has Served aboard USS ROCKBRIDGE, (LPA-228), USS MONMOUTH COUNTl (LST-W32), Naval Officer Candidate School, Newport. Rhode Island, the United States Merchant Marine, USS BIDDLE (CG-34), Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Training Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma, as Commanding Officer, USS FISKE (DD-842) as Executive Officer, Naval Reserve Readiness Command Region SIX, Washington, DC, and Office of the Chief of Na val Operations. He has commanded USS WILLIAM C LA WE (DD- 763) , USS BOULDER (LST-1190), and USS CHARLESTON (LKA-113). Captain McKenna ' s military decorations include three Meritorious Service Medals, three Navy Commendation Medals, and the Combat Action Ribbon, as well as numerous unit awards. Captain McKenna is married to Patricia L. Beaumont of Moylan, Pennsylvania.

c M o A M S M T A E M R D C H I E F MASTER CHIEF MACHINIST ' S MATE (SURFACE WARFARE) DAVID E. SCHERMERHORN, USN Master Chief Schermerhorn nas born in Salamanca, New York on 7 January 194 ' . He enlisted in the US Navy in 1965 after graduating from Shenandoah Valley Academy in New Market, Virginia. He has served in USS ENTERPRISE (CVN-65), USS GRIDLEY (CG-16), USS SOUTH CAROLINA (CGN-37), USS MISSISSIPPI (CGN-40), and USS BAINBRIDGE (CGN-25). Master Chief Schermerhorn reported aboard USS CHARLES- TON (LKA-113) as Command Master Chief in November, 1986. He is a graduate of Nuclear Power School, and Senior Enlisted Academy. Master Chief Schmerhorn is married to Angela Velardi of West Haven, Connecticut. They have seven children and two grandchildren.
