I, tii B.H.S. Pride B-H-S—oh yesl! As students entered school in the morning, they were flooded by a sea of red and white. Construction-paper signs were everywhere announcing the theme of the 1986 Lyre before its release—something never done before. As soon as the eighth period bell rang, the entire student body rushed downstairs and crammed into the boy's gym. As the underclassmen scurried around, finding their section, the seniors started the chants and cheers that racked the gymnasium for almost an hour. This scene is from the first pep rally of the year, and by far one of the rowdiest ever. It demonstrated the powerful school spirit we had this year, and our commitment to Strive for Excellence”. We had a lot to be proud of this year: an undefeated football teamj seven National Merit Letters of Commendation and two Semi-Finalistsi two Baker students studying abroad and nine foreign students herei and a new superintendent of schools, for starters. This year seemed destined to be a remarkable one. Indeed, the stars have literally fallen on the Class of '86 with the arrival of Halley’s Comet, which passes by once every 76 years. BHS—Oh Yes has been made possible due to the efforts of all students, faculty, administration, and the community. Our goal was to show what school spirit we have and how much more there is to be proud of here at Michelle McCormick 2 Opening
