pn-., W af' Perhaps I should use this space to present my philosophy on life, or something equally as sober- ing, however, I can't feel too philosophical sitting amid rubber stamps and carbon paper Cno pity please, for this is just an editor's lot.J Or maybe I could give you a hard-sell-hit-them-in-the-mouth- and-jar-their-senses sales pitch about how this is the best annual we've ever published, but you've heard it before, and no doubt you'll hear it again, so I wonit waste your time with it. In all seriousness, however, I would like to make a confession. At the beginning of the school year I was very apprehensive about how the staff would perform, since only four fmyself included? had had any previous experience. But, I was pleas- 184

P For their help in making this yearbook possible, the 1970 SANDITE staff would like to extend our thanks to some of the people whose assistance we frequently overlooked: Mr. Barry Keeler, commercial art instructor, designed the cover and loaned us the talents of four of his students, Cindy Beck, jim Harvey, Pam Niles and Donna Teaff. Beverly's Photography Studio provided us with pictures of the seniors and the Sandite royalty. Also providing us with pictures was Enterprise School Photos, who took many of the or- ganization pictures and the individual pictures of the underclassmen. Mr. Nowmen Glenn, our American Yearbook Company representative, we thank for the numerous afternoons he had to drive to Sand Springs, to bring us supplies and humor Mr. john Beck with his fishing tales. Mr. Thurman Garrett and Mr. Loren Stephenson served on a screening committee to help in the selection of the Sandite Queen and King. Mr. Garrett, along with the student council, helped plan the coronation assembly for Sandite Queen and King. Our deepest appreciation goes to the long-suffering teachers of CPHS for all the class hours the staff was allowed to miss in order to complete the yearbook on time. To them we apologize for schedules that were thrown out of whack and make-up work that caused more overtime grading than usual. To our patrons we extend a very special thanks because without them we never could have published the 1970 SANDITE. Last but not least, we thank all of you students who bought a yearbook. Without you all our work wouldnit have meant a thing. Keep up the good work - BUY THE 1971 SANDITET Y!

antly surprised by the way they adapted them- selves to the situation, and I sincerely believe that this is the best staff I've worked with. Even though they had several moments of chaos throughout the year Cas all staffs dol, they still deserve any and all praise they receive. And, of course, special thanks to Mrs. Kathi Osburn for all of her help and advice. I think I had better stop now, before I fall into maudlin sentimentality.
