VALEDICTORIANS Students attain flawless transcripts Charles Page had three Valedictorians for the year 1970: Marilyn Smith, Richard Burns, and Karel Kolker. Marilyn Smith was in Thespians, Pep Club, and National Honor Society for three years. While serving as NHS Student Council Representa- tive, she was installed on the Intramural Com- mittee for Student Council. She belonged to Future Business Leaders of America and was Parliamentarian for Future Teachers of America. Marilyn was a delegate to American Freedom Forum in 1968 and 1970, delegate to T.U.L.S.A. Seminar, to Business and Professional Womenis Club Americanism Seminar and chosen as their Girl of the Month for November. She was also a delegate to 1969 Girls' State. Marilyn was a previous member and vice-presi- dent of the National Forensic League. Richard Burns was in Future Business Leaders of America Club. In his Senior year he served on the Intramural Committee of Student Coun- cil and was also in Hi-Y and National Honor Society for three years. Karel Kolker was in National Honor Society and Pep Club for three years. In her Senior year, she was NHS vice-president and Pep Club vice-treasurer. She also belonged to Future Teachers of America and Student Council. Karel was a delegate to Oklahoma Girls, State and was in Business and Professional Womenis Club Americanism Seminar and she was Girl of the Month for them in February. Karel was November's Senior Citizen and received an Honorable Mention in the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. She is listed in the 1969-70 edition of Merit's Who's Who Among American High School Students . 124
