ROW 5: Carol Markham, Dale Gilliland. Russ Hanson. Concert Band, consisting of 35 members, is under the direction of James D. Miller, The band, com- bined with Symphonic Band, marches during halftimes at football games. Performances also include various concerts and district music fes- tival. Pep Band, with student directors Monte Holtz and Jeff Wallis, adds spirit and halftime enter- tainment during pep assemblies and basketball games. Pep Band members are chosen from the Symphonic and Concert bands on the basis of musical ability.

Eight energetic girls from the Concert and Symphonic bands form the Golden Spurs. The girls add sparkle to halftime shows and parades with their dance routines. Directed by Nancy Chapman, the Spurs are selected each spring on the basis of dance ability, ap- pearance, personality, and wil- lingness to work. 28
