CDR. JAMES H. CURRAN, USN. OUR CAPTAIN Commander James Henry Curran Jr., was born on 2 September 1915 in Weynloutli, Massachusetts. Educated at Thayer Academy, Harvard College, and iHarvard University. Commissioned as an ensign in the Naval Reserve Oflicers Training Program at Harvard in 1938. Active naval' duty commenced in 194-0 aboard the battleship U.S.S. MARYLAND.
