' Hi -Lite Staff NDER the leadership of Alice Eschmann, editor-in-chief of the Hi- Lite staff, the senior class of 1942 con- tinued the custom revived by last year's class of publishing an annual. Assisting Alice on the editorial staff were Margaret Gilson and Naomi Stwan, assistant editors. The business staff, headed by Robert Bonnell, business manager. consisted of Virginia Bittikofer, advertising manager. and Arthur Richter, chairman of the sub- scription committee. Two members of the advertising staff, Marianna Purpura and Doris Sargent, solicited much of the adver- tising and their work has been appreciated by all. The pictures of classes and activities throughout the book were taken by our photographer, Russell Meinke, who was as- sisted by Robert Whitaker. Russell also mounted the candid shots, many of which were contributed by various students. Michael DeMarco, art editor, created Li1tle Arky Brush and assisted in the lay-out. Other members of the staff were Elmer Fibich, Iane Kaighin, Howard Schuster, and Anne Levine. The staff appreciates the work which the entire senior class put forth in the pub- lishing of this annual. This consisted of soliciting advertising, writing copy, and typing. ' Arc - Lite Staff E A D E D by Margaret Gilson, edi- tor-in-chief, the Arc-Lite this year again attained a circulation of over 500. The paper, published monthly, is a member of the National Press Association and the Quill and Scroll. Assisting Margaret on the editorial staff were Naomi Stwan, man- aging editor: Ioan Bowman and Alice Esch- mann, assistant editors: Russell Meinke, art editor: Richard Bliss, music editor: and Don Smith. sports editor. Those on the busi- ness staff were Virginia Bittikofer, circu- lation manager, and Iosephine Darcole, ex- change editor. With the assistance of Margaret Gilson, Mr. M. G. Talcott, faculty advisor. organized the Iunior Iournalism club. This organization of 15 juniors and sophomores was formed to give them experience in publishing the paper and to teach them the fundamentals of journalism. Ioan Bowman, only junior on this year's staff, has been appointed editor-in- chief of the staff for next year.
