What follows is a tribute to the graduating Seniors: Tanu Aupiu - This young man is 100'Z3 football player. Wherever he played he performed outstandingly well - whether it was strong safety, defensive end, or wing back. A win- ner. James Clarkson - Although he lacked experience, this young man did not lack Raider Pridef' A real team man. Scott Davis - Knows the value of hard work. Scott led by example. This Senior win back was elected to the 1985 All Mar Monte League team. Robert Garza - Known as Rocky by his team mates. Very strong de- fensive tackle. A two year varsity let- terman. Alfred Gordon - A versitile athlete. Led the county in punting average - 36.8 yards per kick. Led team in pass receiving at tight end. played well at defensive end also. Carl Hughes - One of the top running backs in Raider history. Voted most valuable player of team. Two years elected to the All League Team. Ability is matched only by the way he treated others. Sione Isaia - Played extremely well from his defensive tackle position. Very quick, very tough. Started whole season in spirit of limited ex- perience. A competitor. James Jackson - Needed only time to become a top notch defensive end. Played very ably on specialty teams. Gregory Leach - A extremely hard worker. By the end of the season was starting tight end. Made many blocks from behind in win over Palos Verdes. Paul Lopez - One of the best outside line backers in Ventura County. Brought intelligence and instincts to VARSITY 1985 Scores l Rio Mesa 7- 7 Tie Hueneme 23- 0 Win Oxnard 0-27 Loss Newberry Park 0-14 Loss Camarillo 14-10 Win Royal 28- 0 Win Thousand Oaks 21-19 Win Westlake 26-34 Loss Simi 0-19 Loss Palos Verdes 28-14 Win FOOTB LL All MarMonte League Half Back, Carl Hughes. 170 VARSITY FOOTBALL the line backer position. Steve Lozano - A fighting spirit that often inspired team mates. This in- side line backer played with true de- sire and intensity. Charles MacDonald - Biggest catch of the year was made by Charles in win over Camarillo. The determina- tion of our stating split end will al- ways be remembered by his team mates. Thomas Neusom - Finished the year as our starting strong safety. Thomas always brought a team attitude to the field. Has contributed much to the Raider success in the last two years. Edward Sajor - Our starting free safety was a team leader by his ex- ample of hard work and caring for others. In our final victory Ed had two interceptions and a fumble re- covery. Not a bad night's Work. Andrew Sunia - He was not only a powerful player, he was also a power- ful leader. Andy was a dominant planter at both defensive tackle and offensive guard. Voted co-most valu- able player by his team mates. Thomas Zavala - This two year let- terman and defensive end contribut- ed much to the Raider cause as a special team performer in 1985.
