This year at Channel Islands, we are fortunate to have two foreign exchange students from Germany. Their names are Renee Carey and Sabine Pagel. Renee Carey is a 17 year old from Bonn, Germany. She was born in Washington, DC and she is the only child in her family. She is now living with Mr. 81 Mrs. Michael Smith. Her hobbies are horseback riding, dancing and tennis. She spends alot of her time becoming a part of this school, like being a member of the Drama, Interact, German and French clubs. Her future goal is to go to college and become a Veterinarian. Sabine Pagel, a 17 year old from Hamburg, Germany is living with Mr. 84 Mrs. Gary Kempher. Her hobbies are bowling, swimming and dancing. Her future goal is to go to a University and hopes for a career dealing with languages and people's problems. Sabine is active in the German, Interact and the Art Clubs. At her school in Germany, there are no clubs and activities for her to be active in, so she is happy with the opportunities she has here. ROSALI D MIYASAKI ELE TED T0 REPRESENT STUDENTS DN S HCOL X T BOARD I was the Student Representative to the School Board of Trustees. I was elected by all the ASB classes of the schools in this district. My job was to represent the views of the students and to bring their grievances to the attention of the board. I attended all the School Board Meetings, visited all the schools once a quarter, and attended all the ODC meetings. This is the 2nd year that we have a Student Representative and power of this office tenses off not yet realized, but as this office develops I am sure it will be brought to its full ' potential.
