The 1977-78 school year began as a year filled with great expectations. Our athletic teams were expected to win championshipsg our student leaders were expected to influence the course of our school and our districtp our school spirit was expected to set an example for others to followp our enrollment was expected to grow and make us the largest school in the districtp and our overcrowded classrooms were expected to hold just one more year until the new classroom wing could be completed for occupancy. All in all, Channel Islands High School was expected to have a great year in nearly all areas of involvement and the counselors shared those expectations and tried to play a part in their accomplishments.
