In 1953, the seventh graders started the year with Mr. Smith as sponsor. We elected class officers and they were as follows: president, Norma Fisher; vice-president, Phyllis Akers; secretary, Linda Koerner; and treasurer, Bonita Miller. The class reporter was Charles Conner. Norma Fisher was a cheerleader that year. We had a Valentine Party and Linda Koerner and Donald Blackford were king and queen. We had a skating party and several other parties that year. At the end of the year we went on our first class trip, which that year was to Spring Mill State Park. In 1954, the class then entered the 8th grade. Again our sponsor was Mr. Smith. Class officers were elected about the second week and they were: president, Sylvia Simon; vice- president, Linda Koerner; secretary, Phyllis Akers; treasurer, Theresa Algair, and news re- porter, Charles Conner. The boys on our basketball team were: Carolton Scott, Harry Jen- nings, Bob Fisher, Sidney Gerber, Kenny Williams, Donald Blackford, and Walter Thompson. That was a big year for us. We had several parties, got our class rings, and at the end of the year hod a wonderful commencement. Again at the end of the year we went to Spring Mill. We are now freshmen. There are 48 in the class. Sue Grimes and Bill Harris left us at the beginning of the year. There are several new pupils in our class; they are: Jerry Russell, Charlotte Russell, Arthur Finney, Nancy Johnson and Linda Raven. Our sponsor is Mr. Chapman. The class officers are: president, Carolton Scott; vice-president. Bob Fisher; secretary, Jackie Vickery; treasurer, Sidney Gerber, and news reporter, Charles Conner. 20
