JSeniot la. 5 5 At last we're freshmen, green as possible and scared stiff. We lost some of our classmates this ear. Mr. Turney was our sponsor. We were proud to have three of our boys on the first team in basket- ball. Joan Blackford was our candidate for basketball queen. Dwight Beard and Joan Blackford were crowned Spring Festival King and Queen. We had a nice year. Our sophomore year began with twenty-six in our class and Mr. Cato as our sponsor. Dwight Beard, Bob Smith, Leon Hatchett, and Jerry Hatchett made the first team this year and Redo Heath was chosen cheerleader. Marilyn Meyer was basketball queen attendant. Leon Hatchett and JoAnn Henager were Spring Festival King and Queen attendants. Patty Copeland was drum majorette and Virginia Hilde- brant was a majorette. Some of the girls went to Kentucky Lake and the rest of the class went to Lincoln City State Park. We have had a very active junior year. We have twenty in our class and Mrs. Lowell as Our spon- sor. We got our class rings und also our class jackets which we are very proud of. We had a class party at the beginning of the year at Redo Heath's house. We had a paper drive and sold at the basket- ball games to help finance our Prom. Dwight Beard, Bob Smith, Leon Hatchett, Jerry Hatchett, and Wayne Jones were on the first team. Patty Copeland and Reda Heath were chosen cheerleaders. Joan Blackford and Reda Heath were candidates for the Band Sweetheart with Dwight Beard and Wayne Jones as their escorts. Marlene Stahl was basketball queen attendant. Class officers are: president, Dwight Beard; vice-president, Jerry Hatchett; secretary, Joan Blackford; treasurer, Janice Derrington; and news reporter, Reda Heath. At last we're seniors; there are seventeen with Richard Golle graduating at mid-term and Franklin Baker, Johnny Littell and Daniel Koch going to Mechanic Arts. Our sponsor is Mr. John Turney; six of our boys play on the varsity basketball team. They are: Dwight Beard, Bob Smith, Wayne Jones, Jerry Hatchett, Leon Hatchett and Richard Golle played the first half of the year. Our class officers are: president, Virginia Hildebrant; vice-president, Janet Bates; secretary, Joan Blackford; treas- urer, Marilyn Meyer; and news reporter, Patty Copeland. Patty Copeland was also chosen cheerleader. Virginia Hildebrant was crowned basketball queen by Leon Hatchett. Her maid of honor was Janet Bates. Vendonna Gill was our attendant. Janet Bates was elected vice-president of the pep club this year. Joan Blackford was the president of the band. JoAnn Henager was president of F. H. A. The mothers who help us this year are as follows: Mrs. Beard, Mrs. Bates, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Gill, Mrs. Copeland, Mrs. Meyer, Mrs. Hatchett, Mrs. Blackford. We are planning a senior trip to New Orleans in April. We sold candy and Patty Copeland won a watch selling the most candy. We also sold magazines with Janet Bates selling the most. We are all looking forward to the end of this year, “SCHOOL'S OUT .

l?eniot £?La55 Ptophecy Dear Joan, Our class reunion went over splendidly, and we are sorry you couldn't make it. I hope your cold gets better. I know you are interested in knowing about the occupations of each of our class member so I'll try and do my best. Bob Smith is coaching at Central High School in Evansville, and Ann has bore him two beautiful sons; they seemed very happy. I was very pleased to see Joanne Henager Suter, and Charles, with their three radiant children. Charles is still colonel in the air force, and stationed at Spokane, Washington. Wayne Jones is a stock broker; doing very well in his own business. His wife was ill and couldn’t attend. Vendonna Gill Johnson and Paul are still happily married with their blonde haired, blue eyed baby girls. Paul is the Superintendent of Chrysler Corp. Patty Copeland Watson and Reuben are residing in Louisville, Kentucky. They have a boy and a girl. Patty is working as a Comptometer, and Reuben is doing very nicely in his work. Richard Golle and Betty brought along all the little Golles to the reunion. They are living and working in New Jersey. Marilyn Meyer and Clayton Foster have been married for five years. Marilyn is working for Citizens National Bank as a typist. James Splitorff is doing very nicely on his ranch in Colorado. He and his wife have five children. Virginia Hildebrant and Frank Riffert are married and doing very nicely. Virginia is an essayist in New York. Frank is very proud of her. Leon Hatchett owns his own professional basketball team, traveling all over the world. I know you have heard of his troop, Hatchett and his Hatchetteers. Jerry Hatchett has become an heir to a million dollars. He is rich now but is still nice and un- conceited. He and his wife are living in California. Johnny Lite 11 is married and has a bungalow full of kids. But he hasn't any worry; he owns all the speedways in Evansville. Daniel Koch now owns his own radio and T.V. shop. Mrs. Koch is doing fine at home with their five children. I know you and Dwight are very happily married with your four lovely children. I hear Dwight is doing very well since he got out of college, teaching and basketball coaching. Of course you are keeping house and taking care of the kids. I was glad to hear you have your stone home now on Mt. Auburn Drive in Evansville. I am very happy at my career. I am married, as you know, and have two beautiful children and live in Indianapolis. I almost forgot to tell you about Franklin Baker. He is doing very nicely with his work at the engineering building. He is married to Darnell Brown. Your former classmate, Janet Bates 15
