BARRY TAKES WORLD TITLE If Chandler High students relished win- ning a state championship last year, imagine the school pride when a CHS Student Coun- cil member established himself in world class competition this lVIarch . Barry Suiter was declared the victor in a world class ice cream eating competition sponsored by Far- rel's Ice Cream Parlors . The big eat-off closed the spring sports assembly. Along with other CHS students Al DeLaCruz, Chris Powers, and Terrence Woody, Barry set out to beat the record of a lVlarcos de Niza High School student who wolfed down a pig trough in 31 .8 seconds. All four students were informed at the onset that they could use their mouths, hands, toes, and anything else that seemed effective . During the heat of the race it seemed that the four tried using them all . But in the end it was Barry who, by a mouth and two claws full, swept the competition and shattered the old record with his own of 29 .9 seconds. AI, Chris, and Terrence gazed in admiration and finished their ice cream . Above Right: Chris and Terrence shoveled in the rest of their troughs while Barry was congratulated by the Farrell s representative.
