WAIT UNTIL DARK AND THE MOUSE THAT ROARED BRING TWO DIFFERENT TOUCHES TO CHANDLER HIGH'S STUDENTS The Chandler High School Drama Department has slowly been building over the past few yearsi this year the group was one of the most visible on campus . Headed by lVlr. lVlichael Fain, they performed for the student body several times during various assemblies and also put on a number of productions. The panto- mimists performed at various intervals , and a few of the skit people even highlighted this year's Talent Show with humorous pieces . But a great deal of the work done this year went in- to the two major productions put on by the department. Early in the fall the well- known thriller, Wait Until Dark starred Linda Winget in the Audrey Hepburn role and drew sell-out crowds even during a rainstorm. The group followed that success with the performance of the comedy, The llllouse That Roared . Once again Linda starred in the play about the tiny duchy of Grand Fenwick that decides to declare war on the United States . The object of the ploy was to lose and grace- fully accept the financial aid America always offers after soundly whipping an enemy . Some of the stars of these plays have been interviewed in the following pages . FAIN HEADS GROWING OCDHS lVIr. Fain ended his fourth year at Chandler High this year. In this short period of time, he has produced two sell-out plays, Dracula and Wait Until Dark. Other successful plays put on were Up The Down Staircase, Barefoot in the Park, You're A Good lVlan Charlie Brown, Ten Little lndians, Twelve Angry lVIen, and The lVlouse that Roared . Also put on every year was a series of pantomine shows . These shows were put on by the newly formed OCDHS, Original Chand- ler Dramatugical and Historionic Society. The club was formed and headed by lVlr. Fain. 28- Drama -' 'W' '
