MRS. CHDISSER FINISHES 38TH YEAR , wt, L f Q? ff www, gf . ek, ,,,. iff' Ms ' r 6:2 One of the most familiar faces around the Chandler High campus is that of Mrs. Eda Choisser. She has been teaching English here since 1939 . Many of the parents of her present students were once her pupils. When Mrs. Choisser began teaching at Chandler, the school was much smaller. The south side of the present building was then the entire main building. The wing which houses the math and science depart- ments was added on later. Mrs. Choisser has seen many changes in her years at Chandler and reflects that, not a day goes by that someone doesn't ask me about how long l've been here and how old I am. She laughingly adds, Mr. DeCoursey tells them l'm 102 and some of them actually believe it. Mrs. Choisser must enjoy teaching because she has not decided when she will retire. When she does, she will be missed by teachers and students alike. Below: Mr. Dave Phares talks to a group of his students. His room seems to be the hub of activity in the English wing. Mr. Phares teaches speech and debate and sponsors the National Forensic League. Far Left: Ms. Nancy Lipinski gives instructions to her journalism stu- dents. A first year teacher at CHS, Ms. Lipinski also teaches science fiction and advanced composition , and puts in many long hours as yearbook advisor. . .en .L rf F he Mwzg, if fi, .a.ctaw,.

LAB SCIENCE is REQUIRED The Science Department at Chandler High is one of the most steadfast we have. With a few minor exceptions, the curriculum and staff remain the same each year. There have been additions in the marine biology field and some concerning the desert environment. Courses such as Biology, Physics and Chemistry are usually taken by college bound students, and have a healthy enrollment. The new choices, however, are gaining in popularity and hope- fully will remain in our curriculum. Above Left: Mrs. Haw teaches Physics. Above Right: Mrs. Layman takes time out from the lesson to answer a question. Left: Mr. Dusick's Psychology courses probe the inner thoughts of students in the course. Science-109
