Above Left: Student types. 5 MATH DEPARTMENT HAS NEW CHAIRMAN Mr. Bosse became the new Math Department Chairman after the retirement of Mr, Deaz, who taught at CHS for twenty-five years . Mr. Bosse teaches Geometry and intermediate Math and has been here for sixteen years . Also working in the Math Department was Mrs. Mathis teaching Intermediate Math and with sixteen years at Chandler. Mrs . Haw has been here for six years and teaches Algebra and Geometry. Mr. Hawkis, who teaches Physics, Advanced Math, and Algebra, has been here for five years. Teaching Pre-Algebra and General Math is Mr. Foster. Three years ago, the Busi ness Department began experi menting with a new method for writing shorthand . At the end of two years, it was decided to drop the Gregg symbol system and to completely install the Forkner alphabetic system . The teachers involved in this change were Mr Denham, who is chairman of the Department, Mrs. Cooper, Mr lles, Mr. Myers, Mr. Leone, Mrs. Poe, Ms. Rodarte, and Mr. McGoldrick Mr Denham said that one big change that was made was that their classes were being taught on an individualized basis .
