OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT Lt Kurzawa Born In Kansas City, MO, Lieutenant Kurzawa begin his Naval career as ai enlisted man attending recruit training in Orlando, FL. During his enliste« career, LT Kurzawa served as a Machinist Mate in the Navy ' s Nuclear Propulsioi Program and was stationed as a student at MM A School, Great Lakes, IL Navy Nuclear Power School, Orlando, FL; and the Nuclear Propulsion Trainin; Unit in Ballston Spa, NY. LT Kurzawa served as an instructor at the 600ps Steam Plant at SSC Great Lakes, IL, and in the Reactor Laboratories Division ii USS DVVIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN69). Receiving his B.S. Degree from the State University of New York, LT Kurzaw. received his commission through Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rl. As . commissioned officer, LT Kurzawa has attended a variety of Navy school including the Defense Language Institute and the Naval Postgraduate Schoo where he received his M.A. Degree in National Security Affairs. Prior to hi current assignment as Operations Officer in USS CHANCELLORSVILLE (CG62; LT Kurzawa served as Electrical Officer in USS OLDENDORF (DD 972); CH Officer and Operations Officer in USS THOMASTON (LSD28); and Anti-Subma rine Warfare Officer in USS O ' BRIEN (DD975). LT Kurzawa ' s awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achieve ment Medal, Navy Unit Citation, Battle Efficiency Award (three), the Goo Conduct Medal, the Navy Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal (two), six Se Service Ribbons and recognition as a 1985 CINCPACFLT Shiphandler of th Year. LT Kurzawa is married to the former Cynthia Ann Hudd of Milford, CT. The ' reside in San Diego, CA.
