Guided by their homeroom teacher, Bro. Christopher Franz, S.M., and officers Ed Christie, presidentg Tony Delphane, vice president, Frank Biasi, secretaryg and Mike Allen, treasurer, they landed in first place in both fall raffle drive and the football intramurals. The Skyhawks contributed strength to the frosh football team in the persons of Frank Biasi, Fred Capshaw, and Dick Bernardi. Fred Capshaw and Ed Christie found their berths on the basketball squad., While Doug Casey kept the cinders flying. They topped their division with an 84M general class average and placed fifteen Skyhawks on the honor roll in the process. 118

Joseph Fox, SM., the ZH Eagles elected Robert Woods, president, Robert Wright, vice president, Art Tobani, secretary, and Jack Welhrum, treasurer. The Eagles made a major contribution to the gridiron with Art Tobani, Tom Swartz, Bob Woods, Jack Wehrum, Richard Whitehouse, Tim Stapleton, Bill Thomas, and Bob Wright, On the Cage squad were Art Wood and Bill Thomas, and the cindermen in- cluded Mike Toner, Dennis Toole, and Art Tobani. The class orators were Bob Wright, Ed Ward, Dick Tegnander, and Bill Wilson, all in Speech and Debate. The Eagles were also active in Sodality, Band, Glee Club, Math and Radio Clubs, cross country, and bowling. Cucco. - Not confining themselves to the freshman halls, the lB Blue Devils have spread into every phase of Chaminade life, to prove themselves as a very active homeroom this year. Spurred on by their moderator, Bro. John Maierle, S.M., and their officers, Ed Dean, president, Pete Dunne, vice president, Don Donovan, secretary, and Gerry Dempsey, treasurer, they have made a fine showing in the Spirit Contest. Their athletic prowess was proven by Frank Corcoran, Bill DeMao, Ray Condo, Pete Dunne, and Dan Connors on the football team, and by Bill DeMao and Dan Connors who also played on the basketball team. Eleven of the Blue Devils also participated in cross country and track. ln the scholastic area of their development as Chaminade men, they posted eighteen of their homeroom on the honor roll and came out with an 82.9fMp general average.
