The CHS Drill Team under the direction of Fern Jansonius started off the year by selecting 18 girls and 2 alternates to perform throughout the year. The girls then elected officers with Callie Campbell, captain; Tonya Hieb, co-captain; and Tanna Lengkeek, treasurer. They raised enough money from a car wash, slave day, bake sales, an ugly legs contest, and breakfast at various times throughout the year to purchase new uniforms. Performances were done to Rock Around the Clock , Sound Power’s Greatest Rock Hits , and Boogie Fever which the girls learned after at- tending a workshop in Spearfish. I.
