The 1974-75 school year was u nique, as each year is, but this turned out to be a special year indeed. In addition to the building troubles there were many memorable experiences for each in- dividual student ranging from music concerts to gov- ernment classes to wrestling matches to Traffic Safety Week. We of the 1975 Cub hope that by looking through this book you will remember all the events that made this year a special year for you. The most memorable event this school year will undoubtably be the loss of the Egleston building. It all started back in 1957 when the settling of the land under the building was first noticed. At that time the school board decided against fixing the almost-new structure. This spring after con- sulting an engineering architectural firm, the building was condemned, except for the offices and V-1. The students received the good news on Sunday, Feb. 23. The building was vacated and the work on the structure was begun in April. Cement was poured un- der the building to prevent it from settling any more. Then the workers pulled out a wall of the lunchroom and replaced the beams on their supports. The building will be ready for use in the 1975-76 school year. 4
