Central Junlon-'s 331-d Annual Reflector BASKETBALL by Art Ugartecha Our Seniors had to be content to share the 1955-56 basketball champion ship with Webber, with each team winning six and losing three games. High scorers for the seasonwere,Bob- by Parker 132 points, Jim Hooper 55 points, Norm Schrah 51 points, and R.A.Stevens 45 points. ' The team consisted of Clifford Caldwell, Jim Hooper, Norm Schrah, LloydMcKenzie, Bobby Parker, Joel Seay, Frank Miller, Cal- vin Cross R.A. Stevens, Charles McClain. Coach Goodenow's team deserves credit for winning the championship alone in the 8th grade last year and tying for it in the 9th grade this year. Final Standings fSeniorsJ W L Central 6 3 Webber 6 3 North 5 4 South 1 8 Central's Juniors, coached by Mr. Watkins, didn't succeed as the Seniors. They finished tied with Webber for last place. The team deserves credit for not giving up after losing the first six games. They went on to win two out of the next three g ames. High scorers for the season Wereg Alfred Fulford, with 71 points, Warren Wood, 47 points, and John Hall, 43 points. The team consisted of Dick Garlick, Warren Wood, Brian Mclnerney, Allred Fulford, Dave McCray, Joe Powe, Gary Tarrant, and Roger Riffelmacker. The managers were Galen Redinbo and Mike Tobin. VOLLEYBALL by Mary Ann McGregor During 1955-1956, Miss Lundbom and her volleyball squad did their best to win the championship, but much to their disappoint- ment, didn't quite succeed. The squad consisted of Leola Brown, Kay Fager, Janis Granville, Barbara Hiller, Rob- erta Vogan, Peggy Brandley, Jackie Cham- berlain, Shirley Lazzaro, Etta Beatty, Betty Corski, Susan Schartow, Pat O'Conner, Sherell Cross, Ashly Compau, Ann Schiebner, Edith Brooks, Sandra Speers, Lavina Manchester, Ilze Prikulis, Bruie Strautniks, Nodia Samra, Margaret Schmidt, Mary Ann McGor, El- eanor Gushen, Baiba Skrivelis, Norma Sims, Louise McDaniels, Leomi Holt, Maxine Bow, Betty Yates, and manager Ruth Liebkneckt. The team consisted of Jerry Losee, Jim Hooper, Norm Schrah, Bobby Parker, Joe Seay, Frank Lange, Lloyd Allen, Clifford Caldwell, Charles McClain, Larry Newsome, Louie Economou, James R. Jackson, Herb Delgado, R.A. Stevens and lndulis Judzis. The manager of the team was James C. Jackson. Central's Bob Herweyer Won the junior divis- ion diving championship.
