To promote the welfare of the school and its students, to arouse loyal- ty, and to encourage student activities, was the aim of the council, which this year inaugurated an activity ticket, patrolled halls, encouraged the sale of defense stamps, found vocational openings for career-conscious seniors, made changes suggested by students through the Cats' Meow box, made use of the honor system, tutors' bureau, and lost and found depart- ment, and issued handbooks to all freshmen and new students as a guide to the school and its activities. Its chief purposes are: to help promote all school activi- ties, to aid in community projects and to help the girls of the school. Junior Red Cross work of all sorts and defense work has been the chief community interest of the girls this year and as usual they have helped with all school affairs, and have helped new girls become acquainted with Central.
