To promote the welfare of the school and its students, to arouse loyal- ty, and to encourage student activities, was the aim of the council, which this year inaugurated an activity ticket, patrolled halls, encouraged the sale of defense stamps, found vocational openings for career-conscious seniors, made changes suggested by students through the Cats' Meow box, made use of the honor system, tutors' bureau, and lost and found depart- ment, and issued handbooks to all freshmen and new students as a guide to the school and its activities.
