JOHN ROOP, two-year letterman, handles a
hot serve from his opponent to win the point.
Netster Reign
The Central High School tennis team com-
piled a fair seasonal record of 6 Wins and 4
losses during the 1963 campaign, and battled
to a first place finish in the All-City Tourna-
ment at the end of the season.
The three returning two-year lettermen,
Charles Hooper, Buddy Boatright, and Lee
Selby, provided the strong nucleus necessary

First Place-All-City Tournament

for competitive team play. The Braves drop-
ped two decisions to Edison, the only city
team to defeat them, by identical 6-3 scores.
The other two losses were to Muskogee and
Ponca City in conference play.
Central was Well represented in the 'State
Tournament by Iohn Roop in the singles and
by Hooper and Boatright in the doubles.
