Student Council This year, as in the past, Central’s Student Council has striven for better relations between students, faculty, and the community. Representatives from each group have come together in order to perfect conditions of the school and to perform works which will be beneficial to Cen- tral’s citizens. Not only were the school and community served, but also far-away parts of the world where chil- dren of different lands received Red Cross boxes packed by members of the Student Council Red Cross Committee under the direction of Roberta Jimerson. The War Orphan Committee again supervised the sending of boxes to the Belgian war orphan adopted by the Central students. Due to the Student Union Constitution amendments, the head of the Finance Commission will be replaced by a treasurer next year. Under Ruth Teitlebaum’s direction, the commission made ap- propriations for classes organizations, and activities and submitted the budget for 1948. In addition to sponsoring the Clean-Up Campaign, obtaining trash cans for the campus, and supervising the purchase of shrubs, the Welfare Commission, directed by Dayne Davis also se- cured suggestion boxes in the main office. Arrangements for the bands and decorations at the various social events were handled by the Social Commission supervised by Rosemary Davis. The Activities Commission, headed by Bill Billings, supervised the submission of the Stage Craft Club charter. They were also responsible for the opening of the lunch rooms.
