'A53 ii V V 1 e r i 'fttfiwl V yifj Ve Central High Music Department The Central High School Tiger Band has had a very rewarding 1967- 68 season. Highlighting the season was the selection of six All-State Band and Orchestra members and two al- ternates. The band also received a place in the First-Chair of America Annual, -which is a yearbook honoring outstanding high school and college musical organizations. In marching achievements the band won all As, at the M.T.S.B.O.A. Marching Contest and a Superiorv rating at the M.T.S.U. Marching Festival. They placed second in the large band clas- sification at the U.T. Marching Con- test. At the concert festival all bands, Freshman, Symphonic, and Wind Ensemble, were awarded Superior ratings in performance. The band won many awards at the Solo and Ensemble Festival held at M.T.S.U. The participants were awarded forty- five Superiorf' twenty EXcellent,,' and five Averagev ratings. As one can see by the bandls many accom- plishments, Mr. Pegram has done a fine job of directing the Tiger Band. The C. H.S.
