Fall Activities There was much to be remembered about fall assemblies, guest speakers, and extra-curricular activities. A few people even remember Pat Neve. Pat Neve is Mr. U.S.A., and his appearance before Central students this fall was best remembered by what he did not do. A muscle-man is expected to bare his chest to an admiring public, his contract, however, did not call for such an exhibition, and he refused to give one. So it goes. Other fall speakers were Alfredo Gutierrez, Arizona Senate majority leader, and Leo Corbet, Arizona Senate minority leader, who debated state political issues. The fall assemblies were primarily directed toward the athletes, with football garnering the most attention. Male cheerleaders matching legs with football players and a relay dressing game involving students and teachers were but two of the skitsxjb CKQAJQX - i MXSLLLJT' JSAQLM performed to chuckling audiences. This year's pom line and cheerleaders performed at assemblies and football games, and the marching band, directed by Richard Stemple, won top honors in state competition at Tucson. The band performed at all home football games. Travis Holcombe and Karen Dunlap were elected homecoming royalty, highlighting a myriad of activities during homecoming week. The activities included pie eating, apple bobbing, bubble gum blowing, and egg cracking. Drama students, during October, produced Bell, Book, and Candle. There was much to be remembered about the fall. Within this section are summaries of those activities which dominated after-school hours. vgtgrgkl kk-1L..Lllkdlfvf'xfN i2Ck! hfktaxgjk - LQ Zjyvclzg f Oc X1 ol .
