Club News
Une l1as only to listen to talks given in junior
l1igl1 sehool classes Illlil to the students' conversa-
tio11 to k11ow that they enjoy their club work and
that tl1e n1e111bers are doing and learning many
practical things.
Tl1e -lunior lli-l,ites is the sehool paper. It is
issued every two weeks and U11 the alternating
weeks i11 a col1um1 i11 the l'epster. The editors are
lleverly XYard and l,ois XYllUllSll'Ulll. Miss liolen
directs the activities of its stall, which has forty
niembers. Thus, a large number of students re-
ceive Zlll excellent foundation for future work in
journalism. illllk' Model Airplane and XYoodwork
Club is divided into two divisionsfthe airplane
and tl1e woodwork sections. The airplane boys
are making model airplanes and kites: the wood-
workers are constructing shelves, book ends,
magazine stands. and other practical objects for
the home. Mr. llcilsberg is their adviser. Miss
lirisvold sponsors the Cartoonist a11d Sketchers
Club where cartoons. caricatures, clay models.
and n1etal plaques are made: a11d puppet shows
are presented. l'rograms, ClCClU.lllZltl0l1 contests,
parties. and l1ikes are o11ly part of the fun en-
joyed by the members of the Dramatic Club un-
der the direction of Miss Vowles. lYhen the wind

blows and the snow flies. the scarls and sweaters
the girls of Miss Bl1Cll2l.!lZ1l1'S Knitting and
Needlework Club have made are greatly appreci-
ated. The great out-of-doors beckons the boys
who have joined the Rifle and lliinter Sports
Club. They learn how to handle a rille safely, and
to shoot better as well as to ski, build camp tires,
and cook camp food. Mr. Osborn is their leader.
During the autumn Miss l'eterson took the mem-
bers of the lliking and Know Your City Club on
hikes in the country: in the winter they visited
business establishments of the city as pre-voCa-
tional guidance. liuture Foto-liemers learn from
Miss lJonald's Club the art of taking good pic-
tures, developing lilms. and printing negatives,
Aided by Miss llurnett the members of the Dance
Club can show us the art of the new dances plus
social, tap, and folk dances. llalls. balls, and 1llO1'C
balls in the Basketball Club! The boys learn how
to handle them under the direction of Mr. Tyge-
son and Mr. Seheela. Miss Morek and Mr. Thor-
son deserve honors for the work done by the
hlunior Glee Club and the -lunior linsemble. NVith
Miss Doering as their supervisor the girls in the
Girls' .Nthletie Club play basketball and tennis.
