The Cenlralian Staff We, the Centralian staff members have The editor and his helpers have worked struggled through another year to produce hard. We have had a hard time trying to our year-book. We have spent long hours planning lay- please all the student body. This hasn't been an easy task either. It has taken long hours outs, writing copy, and trying to figure out of preparation and planning, but after all we appropriate words and headings. The PPlHClPdl s Message to the Semors To the Class of 1950 We are all cogn1zant of the fact that credlt for Amer1ca s 1ndustr1al progress dur 1ng the f1rst half of the twentleth century IS grven to her m1racles of sc1ence and pro ductron Increased machlne power electrlc power wages and progress 1n med1c1ne and nutr1t1on have all contr1buted greatly to our hlgher standard of l1v1ng as well as to our greater longev1ty We note also that parallel to but not com mensurate wlth our mater1al galns has been our progress 1n human relatlons Of that progress we cannot boast very freely s1nce th1s mxd year of the century flnds 1n thxs and other parts of the world the same bas1c prob lems of faulty human relatlons A challenge to the Class of 1950 may therefore be found rn both of these areas but I w1sh to place speclal emphasls on the lat ter human relatlons Wh1le you ve been at Central we have str1ven to dlrect each of you toward the goal of emotlonal maturlty whose most 1mportant requ1rement IS that of belng able to make and keep fr1ends W1thOUt such ach1evement we cannot succeed 1n a h1ghly compet1t1ve 1ndustr1al and sc1ent1f1c world My concludlng admon1t1on to you 1S act well your part to the end that there may be developed IH the latter half of th1s cen tury an ever 1ncreas1ng group of more stable and understandrng c1t1zens who are fully qual1f1ed to face the constantly changlng problems of an atomlc age I I 9 O I' . . , . . . v ' u ' sv - - - 9 ' s 7 l 7 v a ' - 7 . . . .
