The class officers, Joseph Scammon. Marjorie V. Nelson. Ardene Berg, and Vvlilliam McCaskill. were elected. These same people have also held oflices in various organizations of the school. and Marjorie is a member of the National Honor Society. Other members of this society are Grace Solether. valedictorian, Carol Hinderlie. third in scholarship. and Dorothy Olsen who is also on the Honor Roll. Vklilliam Thomas has won renown on Central's gridiron both for himself and for his school. He has made the All-City team and has been presented with a gold football in recognition of his outstanding playing. Emily Hale has acquired the title of Central's Bard because of the poetry she has written for the News. Quesl. and Cenlruliarr. on which latter two she has held editorial positions. Joseph Scammon. Marjorie V. Nelson, Carol Hinderlie, Vwlilliam McCaskill, and Vlilliam Cronlt have. with Emily. divided thirteen positions on school publications among themselves. Fifteen per cent of the class is eligible. Students having averages for all their high school work of 2.3 or better automatically become members and are entitled to wear an old English Enough students having averages between 2.3 and 2.0 may be elected to make up the class quota. These students also may wear the pins. ln this class there were Grace Solether, valedictorian: l.ouise Anderson. salutatorian: and fourteen other scholars with averages of 2.3 or better. The faculty elected eleven other students making a total membership of twenty-seven.
