BASEB LL I952 The fighting Tigers marched from basketball to baseball with the determination to come out on top. Having no home field to play on, our home games were contested on Barton's field. Although they failed to win every game, nevertheless, they played hard and portrayed good sportsmanship. Our team consisted of: Pitchers, Paul Mills and Jack Brodie, supported by team members, Robert Miller,Eddie Thompson, Jerry Lancaster, Bill Andrews, Tom Kelly, Jack Meese, Bill Turnbull, Eddie Getson, Eddie Mclntyre, Everett Spiker, Bill Freeman, Tom Woods and Bill Patton. Tom Schlereth was manager and Robert Robertson, bat boy. Our leading hitter was Eddie Mclntyre. Tom Kelly, Bob Miller and Jack Brodie made the first team of the W. M. I. League All Stars. GIRLS' BASKETBALL , In September, Mrs. Pauline Hamilton called a meeting of the girls who were in- terested in basketball. Those chosen for the squad were the following: Forwards-- Martha Ann Staup, Co-Captain, Colleen Ralston, Mary Dorothy Kirkwood, Norma jean Fazenbaker, Shelva Wilson, Virginia Hardegan, Elsie Colburn, Jo Ann Connor, Darlene Getson, Catherine Jones, Martha Jane Lewis. Guards--Norma Jean Bradley, Captain: Leona Stafford, Shirley Smith, Joyce Thorpe, Frances Schlereth, Lesta Eichhom, Mary Alice Clark, Darlene Stephens, Carlene Boeettcher, Norma Jean Ravenscraft, Mary Elizabeth Braskey, Anna Mae Bishop, Score Keeper--Joan Abbottg Time Keeper- -Sue Sowers. The 1952-53 season started with a win over the Alumni 40-28.
