SOCIAL LIFE As usual, the sports department headed the social activity calendar, by having a dance on September 19. This dance certainly was a social and a financial success, so we are hoping that in all their sports events during the year our teams will have their share of victories. The Art Club beat the Seniors to the draw by having their dance on October 3. But it wasn't long until the dignified Senior got their name on the list. On October 15, the CENTRALIAN having been formulated, the rhythm, rhyme and romance dance provided fun for all. The highlight of the evening was the crowning of Mr, and Mrs. Romance. Swing your partner, now Do-Ci-Do --has been echoing from the gym as Mr. Baldwin's newly organized Folk Dance Club practiced after school. This social-all-for-fun-club is gladly as- sisting students eager to learn the square dance figures. Come one--Come all--To Central l-ligh's Mardi Gras --sponsored by the Student Forum. The chocks and shivers of the Spook Houseg the foretelling of your future, the romantic kiss of Arabia and dancing were yours to enjoy. Best of all, didn't everyone have fun! ln a gaily decked gym, the Booster Club held a formal dance for us on October 24. Everyone had a merry time swirling to the harmonious strains of music furnished by the Aristocrats. The dance not only fulfilled every student's twirl desire, but also provided funds for our new basket- ball and cheerleader uniforms. As the spirit of Christmas filled the air, the Student Forum planned the Christmas Dance. The colorful decorations, plus the inspiring musical strains of Eddie and Edna, transformed the gym into a White Wonderland. To add to the hustle-bustle of Valentine's Day, a Sweetheart Dance was held. Of course, a king and a queen were chosen and coronated with heart shaped crowns. We hope you didn't miss this one. At long last, our dream of dreams has become a glorious reality. Every Central lass seemed to feel like Cinderella, as she awaited the arrival of her Prince Charming in his golden coach to attend--yes--you guessed it-- The Junior-Senior Prom. But our happiness, unlike Cinderella's, did not vanish at midnight--for the precious memories of this dream -come-true will remain with us always.
