In 1949, boarding the good SHIP CENTRAL, we embarked on a four year cruise into un- familiar realms of learning and social activities. During Freshman year, we learned to obey our commanding officers and to adjust our- selves to life aboard the ship. We selected for our May Queen's Court Joyce Wamick and Helen Crable. ' With sails unfurled, we launched into our second year. Out mates participated in the activities of the numerous sports and clubs. We elected Khrista McKenzie and Mary Spiker to be our attendants in the Queen's Court. In the Junior year, our Good Ship, though buffeted by angry waves and variable winds, was steered safely through the turbulent waters by President, Jim Foote: Vice President, Bill Andrews: Secretary, Joyce Warnick: Treasurer, Marlene Wilson: and Mr. -William Saylor: Sponsor. Our class rings identified us more closely with life on Good Ship Cen- tral. May 29, we sponsored the Prom in honor of our Seniors: crew and passengers joy- ously swayed to the melody of the Blue Notes as we cruised over the peaceful waters. Marlene Wilson and Louise Dilfer represented us at the May Queen's court. With the final port just beyond the horizon, we chose the following officers to man SHIP CENTRAL through our Senior year--President, Eldon Nicol: Vice President, Bill Tum- bull: Treasurer, Marlene Wilson: Secretary, Joyce Warnick: and Mr. Joseph Haugen, Sponsor. Then as CENTRAL sailed the last knots of the boyage, we selected announce- ments and name cards, had graduation pictures taken, organized our Yearbook staff, and selected our Senior Class Play. Memorable events of the year were the Christmas Assembly and Semi-formal, the Minstrel, the Coronation of the May Queen, and the Junior-Senior Prom. Now port is in sight. We have spent important and enjoyable years together aboard SHIP CENTRAL, but in June we shall cross the bar : then embark upon diverse courses which will be influenced by our trip aboard CENTRAL.
