-1 7' YD I S O 'Y 6 SOCCER SEASON X: S This year the aggregation of Central Tigers in Fall Sports had a num- ber of soccer hold-overs from last season which partly accounted for the team's best season since soccer was reinstated four years ago. The Tigers came out second in the Western Maryland Interstate League with just three points fewer than Bruce. The team played outstanding soccer. Congratulations to Coach Meyers and his boys. The Tigers record this season was one of creditable performance end- ing the season with 5 wins, 1 tie, and 2 defeats. Although Beall proved to be a tough foe, Central came out on top each time they met. Bruce was the toughest foe Central encountered. During the fourth game of the season, Central lost Curtis Johnson, a regular half-back. He injured his shoulder during the game with Bruce. Raymond Ralston led the scorers for Central and also in the League with eight field goals. Allen Stafford, lineman, did a good job as feeder for Ralston. Glenwood Grove, Martin Eichhorn, Robert Jeffries, and Don McKenzie played outstanding games in the backiield consistently taking the ball from the opponents and driving it forward. Bill Lucas was a formidable man at the uprights preventing many points from being reg- istered against the Tigers. Honored by being chosen for the Western Maryland Interstate All- Star Team were four Central Tigers-Ray Ralston, Allen Stafford, Bill Lucas, and Don McKenzie, Bobby Jeffries was listed for second team.
