SOPHOMORE CLASS HISTORY We entered High School in September, 1947, as one of the largest. 9th grade classes in Central. We felt that our school year was truly launched when we met to elect our class officers. Those entrusted with the official responsibilities of 9-A section were: Wanda Groves, President, Gene Reiber, Vice Presi- dent, Nancy Clark, Secretary, and Robert Haugen, Treasurer. For 9-B section the officers were Bobby Cook, President, Janet Metz, Vice Presi- dent, and Lucy Lee, Secretary-Treasurer. 9-A and 9-B boys and 9-A and 9-B girls competed against each other in basketball, 9-B boys and 9-B girls came off the victors. Some members of the class represented us in the track events, in the minstrel, in the cantata, in basketball, in soccer, and in the bird club. There were also two reporters from each section for the paper Tiger Tales. May Queen attendants for our Freshman year were Wanda Groves and Glenna Lyden. The Heralds also came from our class-Sally Mc- Partland and Lucy Lee. After a long and happy vacation, we returned to school as important Sophomores to play our part in the life and the activities of Central. A spirited election of officers for our present year resulted in Jean Reinhart, President, Patsy Ann Amoroso, Secretary, and Lucy Lee, Treas- urer. We elected Miss Mayer for our class adviser. Members of our class did commendable work in soccer and in basket- ball during the fall and winter. Valentine Day was taken advantage of when we held our first dance to celebrate that occasion. We now look forward to our last two years of high school life.
