DANCES The dances which took place during this school year brought so much enioyment that they will always linger in our minds. HARVEST AND VALENTINE DANCES The Cheerleaders held two dances which were the Harvest Dance and the Valen- tine Dance. At the Harvest Dance everyone was attired in blue jeans and plaid shirts. The Jitterbug Contest, which was held that night, was won by Betty Lou Robertson and Junior Trost. The outstanding event of the Valentine Dance was the choosing of the Sweetheart Couple, namely Marie Leake and Bobby Muir. CHRISTMAS DANCE One of the formal dances of the year was the Christmas Dance which the Student Council sponsored. The season's greetings were spread that night by a large Christmas tree, decorations, and also Santa Claus who distributed gifts to everyone. SPRING DANCE The Juniors held a Spring Dance on March the 21st which was an outstanding event of the month. At this time Phyllis Goodwin and Billy Neff were chosen King and Queen of Spring. THE PROM On the evening of May the 29th we had our Prom which was sponsored by the Junior Class. A wonderful time was enioyed by all the Seniors, Juniors, and Alumna who attended. The red and silver decorations, the colors of the Senior Class, and the beautiful, assorted colors of the gowns made a very picturesque scene. The Aristocrats furnished the music. DANCE CLUB Dance Club is held every Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 9:00. Music is provided by the school's amplifier and records purchased with the proceeds from membership cards and dues. It was organized by Mr. John Leo Delaney, our sponsor, for the first part of the year. The purposes of this club are to teach pupils to dance and to become better dancers.
