I FOOTBALL C. H. S.-East East bows to Central 34-7 in a rugged ground attack. David Emory and Barney Gid- dens carried the ball most of the way with Emory scoring three touchdowns and Charlie Hansard scoring the other. C. H. S.-Bearden Central runs wild in smashing Bearden 38-0. Key blocks made by Jim Cole, Richard Craig, Bob Smith, Lonnie Wilkerson, Herb Buckner, and Bud Witt paved the way for the Bobcat backfield. Scoring were Barney Giddens, David Emory, Jimmy Dykes, Curtis Patty, and Earl Crosland. Dykes' 88 yard kickoff return and Crosland's 41 yard romp were the high- lights of the game. C. H. S.-Lake City Central overpowers Lake City 31-2 by using reserve strength. David Emory was Central's Big.Wheel, running all over the field, led by quarterback Eddie Townsend. Bill Oldham, Jim Gammon, Fred Luethke, Harold Ailor, Larry Durisch, Ken' Colquitt, and Larry Craig were only a few of the standouts of the game. Bob Smith broke his back and was out for the rest of the season. C. H. S.-Bradley Central fights from behind for a 27-7 victory over Bradley. Emory scored two touchdowns and ran straight through the holes made by guards Jim Cole and Lonnie Wilkerson. Great defense was played by Larry Craig, Bob Axley, Bill Johnson, Don McNeil, Jim Darling, Ben Baker, Bill Maclin, Jim Gammon, Bill Ramsey. C. H. S.-Rule Subs lead attack with 26-7 victory over Rule. Scoring for Central were Townsend, Giddens, and Jack Wake. Central's defense holds Rule to only 56 yards. Bud Witt, Bob Axley, Richard Craig, Herb Buckner, and Jim Cole were the defensive mainstays. C. H. S.-Jefferson City Central's defensive team holds Jefferson City as the Bobcats win 31-0. Larry Craig, Herb Buckner, Craig, Patty, Witt, Gammon, Dyer, and Maclin stopped the Elks as David Emory drove the pigskin through the holes made by Jim Cole and Lonnie Wilkerson. C. H. Row 6: Managers Brownie Barlow, Bill Kidwell, Harry Collins, Joe Lakin. the naked revetse by Dykes were too much for the Falcons as Central wins 12-O. Jack Wake, Wayne Williams, Harold Ailor, Bill Mac- lin, Bud Dyer, Ben Baker, and Don McNeil were some of the strong defensive subs that stopped the Falcons cold. C. H. S.-Oak Ridge Central and Oak Ridge battle to a scoreless tie at Pruden Field. Captain Richard Craigk saved the day when he kicked a 78-yard pu , standing in his own end zone. Ends Charlie Hansard and Jim Gammon with halfback Larry Craig and Bill Johnson led the defensive at- tack. C. H. S.-West Central stops West 26-O as Jimmy Dykes scores three touchdowns and sets up one more for Eddie Townsend. Trick plays set Dykes free for two touchdowns. C. H. S.-Young Central hits a snag as the keyed-up Jackets snap the Bobcats' winning streak. 6-O. Central gained 249 yards to Young's 79 yards, but the Young victory proved to be one of the biggest upsets of the season in this state. C. H. S.-Landon lMeninaR Bowl-Floridal The Jacksonville vs. Central game was the last game of the season for some 19 senior standouts. Richard Craig, Jimmy Dykes, Jim Cole, Bud Witt, Charlie Hansard, and David Emory made the All- County Prep League first team.
