Honoring the dead ol two world wars, the solemn ceremony impresses DP. l-le cant help wondering il in 25 years his name may be on an even larger list ol lorrrier Central students who have lost their lives in another futile struggle. The advertising assembly for the senior play gives DP. an inkling ol the goings on in Icmuary Thaw. Un the l5th ot November he takes his second-best girl to the studentfcouncil sponsored November Nocf turne . l-tis first best goes with the captain ol the loot- ball team. Dreamer attends all three performances ol Icrnucrry Thcrw. This is a new kind ol senior play lor him. A hun- dred years ago it would have been called risque , but times are dilterent now, Miss Iacoba Dalebout did an excellent iob ol directing. On November 26 he sadly says goodbye to your Annual stall. l-le won't see them lor four whole daysg they are going to the National Scholastic Press Associa- tion convention in Milwaukee to learn the rudiments ol yearbook making. l-le is later told, confidentially, by a member ol the stall that your editor-in-chief not only became seasick on the Milwaukee Clipper where he had to leave his untasted S2 dinner hurriedly, but that he even had a suspicious green tinge on the plane coming back it E' l 5 WW LS .rf mn N SPA Convention

C-e C-e REFLECTIONS continued For the formal opening of the basketball season, a game destined to go down in Central's athletic history is arranged. A team composed of the most able tand the most baldl members of the faculty tangles with the '46-47 varsity. The first quarter opens furiously as the faculty with beautiful defensive strategy holds the varsity to 14 points. Though they score no baskets, on two occasions, the faculty five hits the backboard. ln the remaining three quarters the faculty pours on the heat. Displaying terrifying offensive power, a team composed of Pylman, Waters, Nameth, Shroll, Frey, Wierenga, Shoemaker, and Hyde scores 12 points to the accompaniment of deafening cheers from the fans. But the early lead piled up by the varsity gives it the narrow margin of victory. Faculty: 12 Varsity: 41 December 12 is an important day for DP. Re- splendent in a new suit, he is proud to be admitted into the National Honor Society, a high honor at Central. Five days later he swells with pride when Iune Clark, chairman of the memorial committee, presents to the school a S2200 Hammond electric organ, memorial of the class of 1947. DP. enjoys the Christmas assembly very much. The Snowflake Flutter he attends with his second- best. You guessed it, brother, his first best goes with the captain of the basketball team.
