Central-l2--Everett-7: Two blocked kicks, one by Charlie Severance, the other by Bill Cole set up the necessary touchdowns need- ed to beat a tough Everett team. CHS-22--West-O: Ralph McCarter recovered a West High fumble and Wolfen- bargar carried l8 yards for a TD and the Cats were off and running again. Crosland and Bridges scored two more touchdowns to make the score 20-0. Neely then trapp- ed the West ball carrier in the end zone for the final two points. Central-6--East-6: Central opened their T956 season with a disappointing 6-6 deadlock at the hands of a stubborn East team. Cen- tral's offense got rolling only once as they were held by a stout East line. Central-20--Bradley-l8: Against Bradley, Central played their best ball game of their season. With four regulars sidelined with iniuries, Jonny Wolfenbarger stepped in and led Central over very highly regarded Bradley.

J, Rf' Lloyd, Coach Dan Boring, Charles Severance, John Ridings, Lloyd Kagle, Jack Dyer, Earl Crosland, Eddie Davis, Jim Blair, Alvin Collison, Edgar Gentry, Charles Jones. FOURTH ROW: Paul Slagle, Glenn Greene, Charles Montgomery, Nick Carter, Creed White, Gene Hill, Bill Felknor, Jon Wolfenbarger, Bill Cole, Jim Wells, Coach Frank Boring. Central-32--Bearden-7: After a first quarter exchange of touchdowns, the Bobcats offense began to move. Touchdowns were scored by Sizemore, Severance, Bridges and two by Crosland. The entire Bobcat team stood out in stopping a strong Bearden team. Central-0--Erwin-19: Cen- tral lost their only game of the season to the Erwin Blue Devils i9-0. Central's offense couldn't get going at the right as Bobcat drives were stopped at the 25,2 and i5 yard lines while Erwin used a stolen ball and afumble recovery to a great advantage.

in action Central-12--Fulton-7: With Charlie Severance and a stout defense leading the way, Central upset Fulton. Severance made a beauti- ful catch of a pass and an end around play for both touchdowns while the de- fense held Fulton except at one time late in the game. Central-38--Morristown-O: On Dan Boring Night the Bobcats opened up again and won a smashing victory for the coach on his night. Our fine backs had no trouble outrunning the slow Morris- town defense. Our defense heldtogether again no points to Morristown. Central-42--Rule-l2: A bevy of Central backs opened up on Rule to the tune of 6 touchdowns in the first and one each in the third and fourth. Central-i3--Young-l3: The battle for the championship started and Crosland opened the scoring 68 yard touch- down run. Late in the second quarter Young scored after a pass interception. Sever- ance recovereda fumble and Central added another score, but Young drove downfield andtied itup. Jonny Wolfen- bargar was iniured late in the game ending his high school career.
