The Beta Club of Central High School is a branch ofthe National Beta Club and is an organization based on achievement, service and leadership. The officers for this year were as follows: president, Jerry Milstead, vice president, Charlie Hughes, secretary, Ann Story, treasurer, Nelson Farmer, and reporter, Jennifer Hamilton. This year the Beta Club sponsored, in co-operation with the Key Club, the Student Roster. They also helped raise money for an exchange student through the annual Talent Night. Members were in charge of the Campus Clean-Up Cdmpaign. A large group attended the state convention in Nashville where they supported Bill Fryar for State Vice President. THIRD ROW: Richard Mynatt, Charles Harrington. The Key Club at Central, which is sponsored by the Northside Kiwanis Club has been one of the most active service clubs during the past year. This year the group sponsored the second annual football queen, raising approximately nine hundred dollars with which they purchased a trampoline for the gym. During the year they also delivered Thanksgiving baskets to needy families, worked with Beta Club on the Student Roster and had a car wash. They have bought dictionaries for the English classes and supplied the school with pencil sharpeners. Key Club in- stalled a music system in the cafeteria to promote better mcnners and relaxation during lunch period. ln the summer, the president and sec're- tary attended the International Key Club Convention in Dallas, Texas.
